Globalization and the Assamese Farmer

" Because of the lack of proper agricultural policies, the Assamese farming community lost their rights on their own fertilizers.

With the use of hybrid fertilizers, the farming lands of the country are on the verge of destruction." Pabitra Daimari, executive president of the Samiti, urged the farmers to raise their voices against the unfair policies adopted by the Government against the farmers. The meeting also urged the Government to declare Nagaon as a drought-hit district and provide ration for the farming community of the district for six months starting November.
